Hi Kim,

Your content is helpful and timely, mainly because many writers, myself included, make some of the mistakes you highlighted above. Double spacing and using semicolons the wrong way are just some errors we try to avoid. For example, many writers are unsure how or when to use semicolons, so they either avoid or misuse them. So it's essential to understand how these little symbols work.
Thanks for sharing!

In reply to <a href="https://kimscaravelli.com/7-tips-to-avoid-accidental-plagiarism-when-writing-content/#comment-16">Deb Coman</a>.

Thanks so much for your kind words. Was helping a friend with a long, deep piece of writing, and recognized a few bits that didn't sound like her. She was mortified when she realized she had "borrowed" a fairly big passage of text without citing it (or linking to it), so we got to talking. It's such an EASY thing to do when you're rushing. I've certainly been guilty of it. So I figured I'd capture our conversation in a blog post and see if it was helpful. Glad you liked it!

This is a fabulous process for creating content after doing research. I love the simplicity of creating space between the time you research and the time you write. So helpful to have a framework for avoiding using other people's work, even when that's not the intention to do that.

Thanks for this important piece, Kim.
